The FusionInventory project was started 1 year ago, during FOSDEM 2010. After a year of hard work, it’s time for us to talk about what we already did and what we plan to do in the future !
Dear FusionInventory users ! Good news : FusionInventory for GLPI is now in Beta 1 !
Most of the project’s european contributors and developers where present at FOSDEM 2011 in Brussels, Belgium. We had very interesting talks about the future of the project. Gonéri le Bouder and Walid Nouh did a talk in the Configuration management devroom, and for the first time demonstrate direct inventory into GLPI using FusionInventory for GLPI 2.3.0 : we had a lot of questions, and people were interesting in the project.
Most of the FusionInventory developers and contributors will be present at FOSDEM 2011. The team will celebrate the project’s first birthday and discuss the future evolutions of the project.

A large part of the FusionInventory team has made the move at FrOSCAmp in Zurich, Switzerland, thanks to Mathieu Simon who organized our venue and is a wonderful local support. We could present the project new features, now that the agent version 2.1 and the plugin for GLPI version 2.2.2.html have been released. The conference and the booth were places to start lots of discussions. For the team, time to meet for the first time in real life the new contributors. The roadmap for the next version of the agent has been fixed : the efforts on version 2.2 will be focused on performance and security improvements.
This release fix a serious bug. The Windows service was not able to start if the log file was empty. Thank you Igor for the bug report.

There was a talk about Fusioninventory at Linux Open Administration Days (LOADAYS) in Antwerpen (Belgium), on 11/04/2020. Fabrice explained origins of the project, what it’s currently possible to do with the agent and the associated tools, how to get the software, and why you should use the fusioninventory agent. You can find here the slides of the talk. The room was full and we had a lot of interesting questions from the audience. Apart from this, Loadays was awesome, with a lot of presentations and side talks about configuration management databases, massive deployment. A great event for system administrators and devops!
